It seems like lately The American Canine has been the INTERNATIONAL Canine. We recently spent a week in Portugal. While we were busy sightseeing, we also got the chance to see a lot of dogs. The Portugese people seem to love their pets and they were everywhere. Cachorros(that means dogs in Portugese) were everywhere. I love seeing the dogs out in the world, but also have a lot of interest in where people’s pets or canine co-workers show up in art. The sheer number of pups in paintings and sculptures shows us that creating images of our best friends isn’t some new trend that started with social media.
