Our trip to Spain covered a lot of ground and we only spent a short time in each city we visited. You can imagine my surprise then, when I saw the same dog over and over. 

While walking through Barcelona, I spotted this golden retriever again and again. He (or she) was everywhere. On a wall, above a doorway, on a sign. 

From my internet research, it seems this was the work of a street artist named Chuberchu. Like many street artists, there is not a lot of information available. Some posts hinted that the dog may have been named Lashko. The pup is supposed to have belonged to the artist and passed away. To remember the dog, the artist pasted up these pictures all over the city so wherever he went, his dog went with him.

Or so the legend goes. 

I am not the only curious person. Take a quick look at social media such as reddit or instagram and you will find countless pictures and questions about the dog. 

If anyone knows anything else about this dog, please let me know. If nothing else, I think we can agree the pooch was very much loved.
