Happy New Year!

The American Canine spent NYE in Mexico this year. We took a short trip to Mexico City before heading to a nice relaxing stay in Nuevo Vallarta. 

Interesting thing about CDMX. We thought it was a nice escape from the big dark of the PNW. However, the dog owners there thought the 55*F weather was too chilly for their perros. Almost every dog we saw was wearing a coat!

But we did see lots of dogs. Mexico City appeared to be very dog friendly. The only free-range dogs we saw were when we took a trip outside the city to visit the pyramids in Teotihuacan.

While it was a great trip, we did get a bit shaken up by a 6.5 magnitude earthquake. We were unscathed, but it makes for a memorable visit. Happy 2026!
