The House of Valentino has dressed celebrities such as Anne Hathaway, Jacqueline Kennedy, and Elizabeth Taylor for decades, but the man behind the label had a passion beyond fashion.

Valentino Garavani passed away on January 19, 2026, at the age of 93 in Rome.
Valentino was celebrated for his luxurious designs and is particularly known for his signature red dresses. When he launched his first clothing line for children and young adults in the Eighties, he named the line “Oliver” after his beloved pug.

He has been a fancier of the breed for decades and has been known to be accompanied by a whole entourage of the diminutive dogs when traveling.
You can also get items from his clothing line adorned with his favorite breed, but be warned, it will cost you a lot of bones- almost two-thousand dollars!
