Basil made his last puppy visit to the vet today. He turned 16 weeks old and got both his rabies and final DHPP vaccinations. He is now ready to take on the world. So where is he at this point?

Basil weighed in at 39.7lbs. According to the Puppy Growth Calculator, that means by the time he is a fully grown GSD, he should be at about the 120 pound mark. I do not need a dog that big, so hopefully it is overestimating him.

He is developing very well. He plays with Xiggy and harrasses Emma on a daily basis. I’ve taken him to a number of puppy safe places, including this visit to Mud Bay after the vet. He is very outgoing and resilient when something startles him.

At home, he is quite the adventure dog. He runs wild through the ferns and wood piles in the yard.

He is also coming along well with his obedience training and best of all, sleeps through the night.
