2018…the end.

on

In the words of the Mountain Goats, I’m going to make it through this year, if it kills me. Well, here I am, at the end of one tough year. 2018 has been a rough one, with the loss of many important people, both to me personally and in pop culture. We remodeled three houses, closed a business, accepted a cross-country job offer, gave up two jobs, and lost one longtime furry family member. We also saw several foster family members pass through the house. I won’t even mention the horrible ongoing onslaught of impropriety foisted upon us by the current Presidential administration which was, and continues to be, an affront to my sensibilities.

But, we’ve made it and I have high hopes for 2019. I firmly believe it is going to be better and we’re going to see some amazing things happen. I will be changing the format of the blog a bit. Our tagline has always been, “all the things we do with our dogs,” but I want to change the focus to also look at not just the things we do with our pups, but how our dogs make us all feel. I have several ideas about the way our canine companions fit into our lives, not just as buddies to hang out with, but the emotional support they provide.

I hope you all come along for the fun. Until then, from all of us, Bacchus, Loki, Pixie, Penelope, and myself, have a very happy, safe New Year’s Eve. See you in 2019.

And remember, get out there and do something with your dog.
