The musical world suffered a huge loss today as Eddie Van Halen passed away after a long battle with throat cancer. He was 65.
Most people know him as a groundbreaking guitar virtuoso with his namesake band, Van Halen. The group burst onto the scene with their debut release all the way back in 1978 with Eddie’s style influencing every generation of rock guitarist to come. Not many people know he was also a dog lover.
From his old dalmatian Sherman to his most recent dog, a Pomeranian named Kody, Eddie’s canine companions have often popped up in pictures from his home life to tour life. Kody even has his own Facebook page.
Eddie’s little buddy will be lonesome tonight and our heart goes out to him and the rest of the family as they deal with this loss.
