An American Tragedy

The world lost one of it’s finest people. Dolly Parton, the closest thing we have to a modern day saint, died this week at the age of 80.

She was one of the few people who used their fame and fortune for real betterment. She began the Imagination Library Project more than three decades ago and in that time it has given away 300 million, yes MILLION, books. She contributed to the funding that helped find a vaccine for COVID during the pandemic, and she gave voice to the lonely, lost pups lending one of her songs to PETA campaign to help homeless dogs find homes.

In recent years she also launched a canine cosmetics and apparel line, Doggy Parton, which donated a portion of all its proceeds to a farm sanctuary.

She was a one-of-a-kind performer and personality and the world was a better place with her in it.
