Politics has been called a dog eat dog enterprise, but even the hungriest of mutts would probably steer clear of some of the offal dished out by some pols these days.

While President Obama(above with Bo) probably has an edge on his challenger thanks to the whole dog strapped to the hood ordeal, contenders for America’s top office have a long history with hounds.
