As I write this, the world and America especially is looking back 13 years to a quiet September morning that would change the world. Many in the canine community are posting stories and pictures of the four-legged heroes of that day. For a moment, contemplate the time that has passed. Thirteen years. Literally, a lifetime for most dogs. Unfortunately, a lifetime for nearly all the dogs who served so bravely, so unflinchingly on that day and in the weeks that followed. Today, there is but one of the canine heroes left alive. Click the picture for more on Bretagne, the Golden Retriever.
In other sad news, there is a big space to fill in a Michigan home tonight following the loss of the world’s tallest dog.
Rest in peace, big boy. You were loved. You will be missed.
