There is a lot of work that goes into being a good dog owner, but nothing comes close to the gut-wrenching task of making the decision to say goodbye to your dog . It is the most difficult and the most important responsibility you will have.

Today, I had to say goodbye to Loki the wonder dog, aka Loquacious Divine, aka the Lokimonster, aka, my best friend.
He was a blood donor and spokesperson for canine blood banks, a model, a training buddy, demo dog, friend to small dogs and scared pups. He was a lover of all people, a partner in adventures, and most of all, he was my best friend for a decade.
He did not come with a pedigree or fancy heritage. However, he came with happiness. He came with exuberance, and most of all, he came with so much joy that it made you feel like your heart would just swell up and burst.
Loki was diagnosed with nasal cancer in September and we knew this day was coming, but it still arrived like a sucker punch. I will write more about him when the pain is not so fresh, but for now, rest easy, my good dog, and run free. Cross that bridge knowing you were loved in this life.
Loki (1/23(?)/2009 – 12/4/2019)
