Ten Years

Today marks the ten year anniversary of The American Canine blog. Happy day!

Dharma- the original inspiration

This is actually a third iteration of a blog about my life with dogs. I began writing one shortly after my heart-dog, Dharma, passed away in 2008. She was truly my inspiration for all my work with dogs that came after and the blog was named after her. Later, the name changed and “The Bark and Howl” was born. After a while, I felt that was too clunky. I looked at what I was trying to talk about, what I was interested in, and settled on The American Canine, the blog about all those things we do with our dogs.

I have had a lot of sweet pups come through my life during those years, and seen many life changes. It has been challenging, but fun.

Marking a decade in print is not closing the book on The American Canine. In fact, this is not a chance to rest on my laurels, it is an opportunity for me to step up and do even more. This is my long-winded way of saying there will be a big announcement later this week. Until then, thanks for reading and get out there and do something with your dog!
