Heroes in Bronze

Across the country, groups have honored hero dogs who have fought and died in combat and while protecting our communities with memorials and monuments.

One such piece was unveiled at Arlington National Cemetery, entitled The Pledge, which honors female service members.

Have you ever wondered about the work that goes into creating such amazing pieces of art?

In this episode of The American Canine Podcast, we talk to Lena Toritch, who has a new piece about to be unveiled at the Navy SEAL Museum in Fort Pierce, Florida honoring the Naval Special Warfare K9s.

She has also been the artistic power behind several other pieces honoring some incredible dogs including one of police K9 Jethro in Ohio who was killed in action, and one of the most famous dogs from the recovery efforts at Ground Zero after 9/11.
