Cancer Sucks

On Saturday May 2, we took part in an annual event to help fight cancer in both canines and people.

Our business, Country Inn Pet Resort, sponsored a booth at the 5th annual Paws 4 A Cause event. Through the past 4 events, they have raised $360, 000 that was donated to research into treatments for cancer. And as they keep saying, each step forward in fighting cancer in dogs becomes another step in the fight against cancer in humans.

It was a very well run event. They had volunteers to help unload and set up and walk us all through the process. It took place at Capital Lake, a beautiful location with an amazing view of the Washington State capitol building. We could not have asked for a better day as the temperatures hovered in the upper sixties or so.

Hundreds of people turned out. It was a much larger and more elaborate event that I imagined. Many came in costume, including an amazing Star Wars crew since May the Fourth is just a couple days away. We also saw several of our clients as well as old friends.

Overall, a great day and a great cause.
