A sad day in the dog world.

One of social media’s most famous dogs, Loki the Wolf Dog, has passed away.

Photographer and outdoor enthusiast, Kelly Lund, adopted Loki as a pup. In 2013, he began posting videos and pictures on instagram and Loki was a hit. The first video I remember of his was shot on GoPro of this massive Malamute/Wolf hybrid bounding in slow motion through the snow with First by Cold War Kids playing. You can see it here.

Over the years he became a spokesdog for CBD treats, canine gear, GoPro, and more. He was later joined on his adventures by Raven, a beautiful white German Shepherd who passed away a couple years ago.

Loki developed a massive fan base and lived an amazing life with countless outdoor adventures, inspiring many to get outside with their dogs.

My thoughts go out to his family. He will be missed by millions.

“We’ve been through some things together
With trunks of memories still to come
We found things to do in stormy weather
Long may you run

Long may you run
Long may you run
Although these changes have come
With your chrome heart shining in the sun
Long may you run” –Neil Young
